Racing in the rain and fog!

It was the Bathurst 12 hour GT race on Sunday. It was a major disappointment. The last 12 hour race was in February 2020 and it was an absolute cracker although the temperature was over 40ÂșC which made spectating very uncomfortable.

That year there was big field-over 40 cars -with many top European and Asian teams. This year they moved the race to May.The Europeans and Asians were racing at home so the entry was only 20 cars and the weather was abysmal and so was the racing.

I went with friend Warren. We should have stayed at home. We only watched a few hours and then pulled up stumps. To rub salt into the wound the journey in both directions was painfully slow.

I've definitely had better weekends.

And yes I also cannot believe that any company would have a promo girl dressed like that in 2022.

Some photos from a dismal weekend.

Billabong at Nindigully

A previously unposted photo taken on my road trip a year ago. A stranded lagoon or billabong at Nindigully on the very flat country south of St George, Queensland.

As soon as it rains out there the creeks and rivers flow and rapidly flood across the flat country. Billabongs and small lakes fill up and the country is transformed.

I overlooked this photo. It was a very tranquil place. Old gum trees standing in the water and nearby a very original old pub complete with horse hitching rails.
