Back into the archives

With the lockdown continuing I am forced to go into my photo archives again to find photos for the blog. This time it's shots from a journey to Laos in 2006. These photos were shot on Fuji Velvia slide film with my Leica M6. I used three lenses on that trip-a 28mm, a 50mm and a 90mm but I have no idea which were used for which shot.

There is something special about these film photos-a unique quality which you do not get with digital.

Lockdown blues-week 12

Keeping the blog going in the time of lockdown is difficult. Here in Terrigal, NSW, we are in 12th week of this lockdown. The vaccination numbers are steadily climbing but the daily new infection numbers are staying stubbornly high. Most of us are feeling locked in, ground down and burnt out and experiencing feelings of indifference, boredom and stagnation.

I cannot travel except for essential journeys and essential shopping so a trip to Sydney to see the children and grandchildren is not possible. I can only walk to exercise so I cannot walk around with a camera. So my steady stream of new photos from my travels has dried up. International travel is a distant memory and I was very fortunate to have done my three week road trip back in April

So I have dipped into my library of photos back to my last international travel to Portugal and Spain in September 2019. As well as the last time I flew it is the last overseas travel with my wife Val. Happy days long gone and gone forever.

Here are a few previously unseen photos from that last overseas road trip.
