Farewell my beautiful friend

My beautiful Marvel has died. She was only 5 years old but she had a genetic heart condition. She'd had a heart attack last September and the vet had only given her three months, maybe six months at best, to live. I gave her three meds every day and she beat the odds and lasted ten months but this week she'd used up all her lives.

She really was a beautiful cat. She was a rescue cat and I'd adopted her from the RSPCA just 8 weeks after my wife had died and at the start of the very long covid lockdown. Marvel saved my sanity

She was not a lapcat but she loved a chin rub. She never ever tried to bite me.When she was little she loved to play. In our new home she peacefully coexisted with Smudge, the tuxedo cat, and she wandered our garden and the adjacent gardens every day. She was a delight and every day I looked forward to seeing her little ginger face at the backdoor asking to be let in for a quick bite before she resumed her seat on the cushion atop a box in the garden under the office window. The last few days have been so sad without her.

Thank you Marvel. You were wonderful.

Rainy day Bouddi NP.

In the rainforest Bouddi National Park, Central Coast, NSW, Australia. I took the opportunity to use my newly acquired SL2 and the 16-35mm lens on a very wet morning. Leica claim that the SL2 is weatherproof but they don't define weatherproof. The camera got a little wet but it was not soaked and I towelled it down when I was back in the car.

The bottom photo shows a typical part of the bush. The top photo shows a nearby fire trail.
