Frank Lloyd Wright.

Of all the many places I visited in the US on the recent trip Fallingwater, the Frank Lloyd Wright designed house built over a waterfall in the Laurel Highlands in mid Pennsylvania, was the most memorable.
We visited early on a beautiful morning in a small group tour on which they do permit photography.

The house and its surroundings are just beautiful and even more impressive is the fact that  the original furniture, art works and fittings are still in place. These are authentic period items-not reproductions.

Fallingwater really does deserve its iconic status. It is a truly amazing building in an amazing setting.

I am pleased with the photos I took that morning but it would be really wonderful to photograph it when there is snow on the ground and the waterfall is frozen as others have done for calendars and photobooks.

The photos were all taken on the Leica X1.

  1. Nice photos, John, with beautiful colors. I hope I can go there someday (which seems a silly thing to say since you made it all the way from Australia.
